Refrigerator and freezer repair in Highlands Ranch

This site leads with ice, but the box around the ice maker fails too: a fresh-food side creeping past 40°F, a freezer frosting over, a fan that ticks. Sub-Zero Repair Highlands Ranch diagnoses the whole Sub-Zero on the same visit.

Probing a control board with a meter. Boards get blamed a lot; we measure before we replace one.

What you notice, and where we look first

What you noticeWhere we look first
Fresh-food side warm, freezer still coldAir not moving across a cold coil: an evaporator fan, or a coil iced solid because the defrost stopped working.
Both sides warm, compressor runningA condenser matted with dust, a condenser fan, then the sealed system. The inexpensive causes get ruled out first.
Frost on the back wall, ice under the drawersDefrost heater, its thermostat or sensor, or a door gasket letting damp kitchen air in.
Dark display, odd readings, clicking on and offThe control board or the sensors it reads. We measure before replacing a board.
Door no longer pulls itself shut, sweat on the edgeThe gasket, or the hinge closer that draws the door the last few inches.

Water on the floor in front of the unit is its own case: a defrost drain blocked with ice, a drain pan out of place, or the ice maker's supply line. Tell us where the puddle forms; it narrows things down before we arrive.

Typical price ranges

Each range is part and labor for that kind of repair on a Sub-Zero. It is not a quote: your price is set once the unit has been diagnosed, and agreed before any work starts. The $89 visit is credited to the repair.

RepairTypical range
Door gasket or seal replacement$300–$630
Evaporator or condenser fan motor$340–$730
Defrost heater, thermostat or sensor$270–$650
Ice maker, water valve or supply line$290–$840
Electronic control board$390–$950
Compressor or sealed-system repair$1,460–$3,340

For comparison, a new built-in of the same class costs $12,010–$20,480 before anyone installs it or touches the cabinetry. Sealed-system work is the expensive end of the table; when a repair on an older unit gets close to the point where replacing it makes more sense, we say so plainly and leave the decision with you.

While you wait

Should I unplug the refrigerator while I wait for the visit?

Only if something smells hot, the breaker keeps tripping, or there is water near the wiring. Otherwise leave it running and keep the doors shut: a unit that is still cooling a little buys your food time, and we can see the fault while it is happening.

Do you work on integrated columns and freezer drawers too?

Yes: integrated columns, refrigerator and freezer drawers and undercounter units, as well as the classic built-in side-by-sides and over-and-unders. The same ranges apply. What changes is how much of the cabinetry and the panel has to come off to reach the part.
