Sub-Zero ice makers, repaired in Highlands Ranch

No ice, small ice, milky ice: we work out which is a failed part and which is the water, then fix the part, in built-in freezers, undercounter ice machines and the refrigerators around them.

Phone answered day and night. Price agreed before any work starts.

No ice? Three checks before you call

No tools needed.

  1. Is water reaching it?

Open the shutoff on the refrigerator line fully, usually under the sink or near the main. A valve left half-closed after plumbing work starves the ice maker first. A slow dispenser too means the problem is upstream.

  2. Is it switched on?

Most Sub-Zero built-ins switch the ice maker from the control panel, and many have a wire arm or sensor that stops it when the bin reads full. A raised arm or a wedged cube looks like a dead ice maker.

  3. Is the bin seated?

A crooked bin, or cubes fused into a block that props the arm up, stops production. Empty it, break up any clump, push it home and give it a day: the first batch can take hours.

Still empty after a day? What we check

The cubes tell us where to start.

Ice makers and ice machines

Ice makers in Sub-Zero built-in and integrated freezers, and 15-inch undercounter ice machines: valves, supply lines, frozen fill tubes, modules, bin sensing, drains. Repairs typically run $290–$840.

Where your ice water comes from

Highlands Ranch taps are fed by Centennial Water & Sanitation District, not straight from Denver Water: mostly treated river water, with deep-aquifer wells in reserve. The mineral content of that blend swings widely, and ice made at either end looks different without anything being broken.

What Our Highlands Ranch Customers Say

  • Our built-in Sub-Zero stopped cooling properly on a Friday evening. I called first thing Saturday morning and they had a technician at our house by early afternoon. He diagnosed a compressor issue, explained everything clearly, and had the parts to fix it right away. By evening our refrigerator was working perfectly again. The service was professional and efficient.

    - Michael R., Highlands Ranch

  • I was impressed with the thoroughness of the diagnostic process. The technician did not rush through the evaluation and took time to explain what was causing the ice maker problems. He replaced the necessary components and tested everything multiple times before leaving. Three months later and everything still works great. Very professional service.

    - Jennifer L., Backcountry

  • After getting quotes from two other companies, I chose this service based on their reputation. The price was fair and the technician was knowledgeable about our older Sub-Zero model. He had the replacement part in his truck and completed the repair in under two hours. I appreciate that they use genuine parts and stand behind their work with a solid warranty.

Questions we hear in Highlands Ranch

What does the $89 visit cover?

The trip to your home and a diagnosis of the whole unit, not only the ice maker. You get the repair price before any work starts. Go ahead and the $89 comes off that bill; decide against it and the $89 is all you pay.

Do you repair undercounter ice machines as well as built-in freezers?

Yes: the ice makers inside Sub-Zero built-in and integrated freezers, and the separate 15-inch undercounter ice machines, drain side included. Tell us which one you have when you call, and read us the model number if you can see it.

Will a new water filter make cloudy ice clear?

Usually not. The Sub-Zero cartridge is a carbon filter: it improves taste and odor and catches sediment, but leaves dissolved minerals in the water, and those whiten a cube. Replace an overdue one anyway, since it can slow the fill and shrink the cubes.

My Sub-Zero is still under warranty. Should I call you?

Call Sub-Zero first. Repairs covered by the manufacturer warranty go through Sub-Zero’s own service network, and we are an independent service outside it. Once the warranty has run out, or for anything it does not cover, we repair the unit directly.
